Foodie Hero app for iPhone and iPad

FoodHeroesTM is a handy app that lets you track the food items you have purchased. Simply snap a photo of your purchase and enter the expiry date via a dial and that is it! The aim of the FoodHeroesTM app is to help users cut down on food wastage, thus helping to reduce Global
Warming. It prevents over-buying as you can check the list of items you have before you make any purchase during grocery shopping. It sends you a notification when a food item is nearing expiry date so that the food item will be consumed and not go to waste. Moreover, it gives you the option to donate any surplus food items or items nearing expiry date to the FoodBank of Singapore at any one of the collection points all over the island. Just add any item to the Donate Cart and donate them to FoodBank when you are physically at any FoodBank collection point. The food items donated will be channelled to the beneficiaries of FoodBank.

FoodHeroesTM allows you to earn in-game coins and makes using the app fun! You can compete with your friends and other fellow Singaporeans to be the Food Heroes of the month! Every time you add a item, you will earn 5 coins. Updating a consumption will earn you 1 coin while every item donated to the Foodbank earns you 10 coins. However, you will be pay a penalty of 5 coins should you let any food item go to waste when it expired!
